Locals stage protest in Siliguri over ration supply amid lockdown

Siliguri, 01st May: Following the government guidelines, the second phase distribution of ration items commenced at the ration shops on Friday. However, allegations of corruption have surfaced against various ration shop owners, who are being accused of hoarding commodities and then selling them in the black market.

Several customers, on Friday, accused Ranidanga No. 5 ration dealer Ajit Kumar Ghosh of corruption and also exposed the huge scam being carried out in ration supply.

Condemning the shortage of essential commodities, the consumers staged a protest on Friday and complained that ration was given to them in fewer quantities ignoring the government instructions.
