Siliguri, 26th May: A woman in the Kharibari Kholtabazar area, who had recently traveled to Mumbai tested positive for COVID-19.
When she showed symptoms of the virus, she was admitted to North Bengal Medical College-Hospital (NBMCH) where her swab test was done. The report came back positive yesterday following which she was admitted to the COVID Hospital.
Meanwhile, the locals alleged even after the matter came to light, the administrative officials did not visit the area. With no other choice left, they themselves put up barricade around the area this morning to get rid of trespassers.
On the other hand, it has been learned that another woman in Naxalbari has tested positive for the virus. The health workers are constantly trying to trace the ones who had come in contact with her.
