Locals protested alleging corruption in Pathashree’s work at Kharibari

Kharibari, 04th May: Locals residing in the Khunia Pukur area under Binnabari Gram Panchayat of Kharibari protested today, alleging corruption in the works under the Pathashree scheme. They expressed resentment, claiming that work was being carried out on a different road instead of the one allocated.

According to the locals, despite a signboard indicating the repair of a 1.2 km road from Gopal Tudu’s house to Ullajote Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojna, road construction began from Milan More of Khunia Pukur. The locals have warned of launching a bigger agitation if the sanctioned road is not constructed.

In this regard, BJP’s leader of opposition in Panchayat Samiti, Nantu Mandal, termed the matter as lawless and theft of road. Expressing resentment towards Trinamool, the BJP leader said that the work on the road should be done as allocated.

On the other hand, President of Kharibari Panchayat Samiti of Trinamool Congress, Ratna Roy Singh, said that they are investigating the matter. She further stated that road construction is being carried out according to the requirements of the people.
