Naxalbari, 04th September: Two bicycle thieves were successfully apprehended and handed over to the police by the locals of Totaram Jote in Naxalbari.
According to reports, on Sunday afternoon, two miscreants carried out a theft and stole a bicycle from a residence in the said area. The following day, the locals noticed the duo wandering once again in the neighborhood and identified them with the help of CCTV footage. Subsequently, the locals apprehended both the accused and handed them over to Naxalbari police. Investigations revealed that both the accused hailed from Bagdogra.
In this regard, local Panchayat member Mohammad Kalam stated that the youth of the society are getting involved in drug addiction resulting in increased cases of thefts in the area.
