Bagdogra, 13th July: Local businessmen in Bagdogra have expressed their anger and frustration following yet another incident of theft that occurred just a short distance away from the police station. The incident came to light this morning when shop owner Santosh Rai arrived to open his shop and discovered the theft had taken place. It has been reported that the culprits broke into the shop late on Wednesday night by cutting through the tin and made off with several items, including Rs 7,000 in cash.
Upon receiving the information, the Bagdogra police promptly arrived at the scene. Upper Bagdogra Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sanjeev Sinha also visited the spot, stating that the incident has been reported to the administration. He assured that steps will be taken to enhance the security system in the market. Meanwhile, local businessmen expressed their dissatisfaction with the recurring incidents of theft occurring so close to the Bagdogra police station.
