Cooch Behar, 04th July: Sensation prevailed in the area after a live explosive was recovered in front of the residence of a BJP candidate in Balakuthi Joraimore area, located under Bhanukumari Gram Panchayat-II of Tufanganj Block No. 02.
As per reports, Bakshirhat police conducted a raid near the residence of Sumit Das, the candidate for the 9/130 Gram Panchayat, and successfully recovered the live bomb this morning. Sumit Das, the BJP candidate, alleged that the incident was orchestrated by miscreants affiliated with the TMC. He further claimed that the rival party, facing an uncertain political landscape, resorted to unfair means to secure victory in the upcoming Panchayat polls.
Additionally, he claimed that he would lodge a formal report about the entire affair at the police station. Meanwhile, Sujit Ghosh, the president of the TMC regional committee, countered the BJP’s claims by stating that the party engages in bomb politics and has even established a warehouse stocked with explosives. He expressed his belief that the BJP candidate planted the bomb in their own residence, aiming to gain public sympathy following the recent Lok Sabha elections.
