Siliguri, 16th January: Mega Sanitary Pad Distribution camp was organized at the village of Padma Shri Karimul Haque on behalf of Lions Club of Siliguri Uday.
During the camp, around 25 thousand sanitary pads were distributed. Each woman was given 60 pieces of sanitary pads. According to the information received, more than 350 women took part in the camp. A target to distribute 5,00,000 sanitary pads has been set on behalf of the club.
In addition to this, a seminar regarding the importance of sanitary pads and their role regarding menstrual hygiene management was held. Organizing committee’s project chairman Lion Ankit Agarwal and Vishal Agarwal, club president Lion Vishal Jain, Vikash Agarwal Pramit Bansal, Bikram Kedia, Amit Jalan, Piyush Maskara, Arun Goyal and Vivek Goyal were present during the camp.
Vishal Jain, president of Lions Club of Siliguri Uday, informed that the club will soon organize such camps in other villages as well. Along with this, cooked meal was also distributed among the people.
