Siliguri, 14th February: To create awareness on diabetes, the Lions Club of Siliguri Pride is set to organize a marathon competition on February 16.
As per the information, the competition will commence in front of the Siliguri Checkpost PBR Tower and will conclude at the same venue after touring various areas via Ramkrishna Chowk (Panitanki More). Around 400 contestants from all over the state will participate in the 6.5 km marathon race. Various prizes have been arranged for the winners.
According to sources, registration will be held at the PBR Tower from 6.30 am on February 16. The participants will have to pay 200 rupees as a registration fee and will be provided with breakfast, t-shirt, hat and free medical checkup during the event. State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb will be present at the inaugural event.
