Mirik, 29th November: Social organization ‘Let’s Go Anti Rabies’ of Mirik today visited different areas of the town and injected oral rabies vaccination to the street dogs to prevent rabies.
According to Rakesh Sharma, Director of Let’s go Zero Waste and Anti Rabies organization, more than 52 stary dogs were vaccinated on behalf of the team in collaboration with Culture Veterinary Feed and Supply Pharmacy during the camp.
“Dogs are like humans, and is a creature of the earth, but no one notices them. If the dogs are not healthy, it will be a direct threat to the human beings”, he added.
Renowned veterinarian Pawan Chettri also said that street dogs can be vaccinated against oral rabies every year so that people can stay healthy and safe.
Another social activist Riya Pradhan said that the social organization ‘Let’s Go Anti Rabies’ has also started vaccinating dogs from this year and this campaign will continue in future as well.
Mirik’s social organization ‘Let’s Go Zero waste’ has also been conducting several social works and public awareness activities related to environment and tourism, such as cleanliness campaign, anti-drugs campaign and other social activities since past few years.
