Banarhat, 12th September: An adult leopard was trapped in a cage planted by the forest department in Section No. 35 of the Haldibari Tea Garden in Banarhat.
As per the information, the wild animal had been troubling the villagers for quite some time. After the plantation management was notified regarding the issue, an application was addressed to the officials of the Forest Department in Binnaguri to catch the leopard.
Today the workers spotted the leopard trapped in one of the cages planted by the forest workers. Upon receiving the news, the staff of Binnaguri Wildlife Squad reached the spot.
Reportedly, the leopard will be taken to the Lataguri Nature Supervision Center for medical examination.
