Malbazar, 05th February: An adult leopard was caged in the Kothi Line Sramik Mohalla area of Bhagatpur Tea Garden in Nagrakata on Thursday. The incident caused a stir in the entire area.
According to the forest department, a cage was already planted earlier and every evening, a goat used to be kept inside it. The leopard was successfully trapped in the cage while feeding on the goat. Upon receiving the news, the Khuniya squad workers reached the spot and rescued the leopard.
In this regard, Ranger Rajkumar Layek said that the leopard has been taken to the nature observation centre of Lataguri. After a health check-up, it will be released into the forests today.
