Rajganj, 17th December: A leopard was successfully trapped in a cage at the Shikarpur Tea Estate in Rajganj, bringing relief to local residents who had been living in fear for the past several weeks.
According to sources, panic had gripped the area following repeated incidents of livestock attacks by the leopard. On 12th December, a goat was killed in a leopard attack, further escalating fear among workers and residents of the tea garden and nearby areas.
In response to the situation, the Belakoba Forest Department installed a cage at the tea garden five days ago. On Tuesday evening, the leopard was finally trapped in the cage.
After receiving information, forest personnel from the Belakoba Range rushed to the spot and safely rescued the leopard.
With the leopard now captured, residents of the Shikarpur Tea Estate and surrounding areas have expressed relief after days of anxiety.
