Rajganj, 03rd January: Panic triggered in the Simulguri area of Rajganj after a leopard was spotted in a tea garden. The news surfaced from the Pakhir Danga area under the Mantadari Gram Panchayat.
Reports indicate that the workers in the tea garden were taken aback when they suddenly spotted the leopard while working on the plantation. Forest officials from the Cheulibari Beat of Ambari Range were alerted and rushed to the scene. Upon their arrival, they began searching the area for the leopard.
In this regard, Cheulibari Beat Officer Mahesh Kumar Balmiki confirmed that reports of a leopard sighting had been received. The forest team promptly began a search; however, no further evidence of the leopard’s presence has been found.
