Alipurduar, 03rd January: A tragic incident surfaced where an adult leopard died after being hit by a vehicle on the road adjacent to Birpara’s Garganda Bridge in the Madarihat-Birpara CD block of Alipurduar district.
As per details received, the locals informed the forest department about the death of an adult leopard. Upon receiving the news, forest personnel of the Jaldapara range of the Forest Department arrived at the spot.
According to the Forest Department, the leopard died after being hit by a speeding vehicle while crossing the road. They added that the precise reason behind the death would be revealed by the post-mortem examination reports.
