Leopard cubs found in Phansidewa tea garden drain, forest department intensifies vigilance

Phansidewa, 07th October: Two newborn leopard cubs were discovered in a drain at the Balasan division of Motidhar Tea Estate in Phansidewa, prompting the forest department to heighten vigilance in an effort to reunite the cubs with their mother. The sighting has left tea workers in fear.


The cubs were spotted by tea workers while they were picking leaves. The garden authorities were immediately informed, who in turn notified the Ghoshpukur forest department. Forest personnel quickly reached the site and secured the area.

Ghoshpukur Ranger Prameet Lal confirmed that cameras have been installed to monitor the cubs, and surveillance has been increased to facilitate the safe return of the cubs to their mother. The entire area remains cordoned off for safety.
