Leopard carcass found in a tea estate in Kharibari, triggers sensation

Kharibari, 24th April: The body of an adult leopard was discovered in a private tea estate in Panthabari, under Batasi in the Kharibari block, causing a wave of sensation in the area.


Reportedly, on Thursday morning, tea garden workers came across the body of the leopard while plucking tea leaves. Following the discovery, a team from the Tukriajhar Forest Department reached the spot, recovered the carcass, and sent it to Bengal Safari for a post-mortem examination.

According to initial observations by the Forest Department, the leopard is believed to have died 4–5 days ago. However, the exact cause of death remains unknown, and the department has initiated an investigation to determine how the animal died.
