Leopard captured in Bhandiguri Tea Estate of Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri, 11th August: A leopard that had been causing panic in the area was finally captured in a cage at the Bhandiguri Tea Estate in Jalpaiguri district.


According to sources, a few months ago, a tea worker was injured in a leopard attack, which triggered fear among the workers’ colony and the entire garden. The tea estate is located near the Baikunthapur forest, and with the growing concern, forest officials set up a cage. The leopard was eventually trapped in it, bringing relief to the residents.

Later, the leopard was rescued by the Belakoba Range staff of the Baikunthapur Forest Department. As per forest officials, after preliminary treatment, the animal will be released back into the forest.
