Siliguri, 03rd September: In response to the R.G. Kar rape and murder case, the Left Front organized a protest march in Siliguri on Tuesday, demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The march began at Bagajatin Park and proceeded through Hill Cart before concluding at Airview More. Prominent Left leader Ashok Bhattacharya, along with other leaders, participated in the demonstration.
In this regard, Bhattacharya criticized both the state and central governments, alleging a lack of obligation to justice for the victims. He stated that existing laws are sufficient to impose strict penalties on perpetrators if there is a genuine intent to enforce them.
