Rajganj, 04th December: Tension erupted in the Bandhunagar area of Rajganj following a land dispute. Allegations of vandalism have been made at a Tata Motors commercial vehicle sales and servicing centre.
According to the complaint, the owner of the establishment, Vishal Agarwal, had purchased a plot of land adjacent to the showroom for the purpose of setting up an industrial unit. It has been alleged that a few local individuals attempted to forcibly occupy the land.
Vishal Agarwal stated that when he tried to stop them, the miscreants vandalised his vehicle and locked the main gate of the showroom from outside. He further alleged that he was threatened with death if he came out. Following the incident, he contacted Bhorer Alo police station at dawn. Police reached the spot, after which Agarwal and his employees were able to come out of the showroom.
On the other hand, local resident Sarita Begum and her husband claimed that the disputed land is ancestral property belonging to her husband. They alleged that Vishal Agarwal, along with some local land mafias, was trying to forcibly occupy the land. Sarita Begum also alleged that her son was assaulted when they tried to resist and demanded a fair investigation.
Later, a large police force from Bhorer Alo police station reached the area and brought the situation under control. Police have started an investigation into the matter.
