Rajganj, 07th January: Police from Bhorer Alo police station arrested a man in connection with a land dispute in the Bandhunagar area of Rajganj on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as Sahirul Haque, a resident of Sitaguri village near Bandhunagar.
According to police sources, Sahirul Haque was apprehended from Bandhunagar in the morning and produced in Jalpaiguri court the same day.
The dispute arose over a plot of land adjacent to the Tata Motors commercial vehicle sales and service center, which led to tension between the two parties. Reports of vandalism, locking of the showroom, and threats to life were lodged following the incident.
The police investigation led to Sahirul Haque’s arrest. Authorities are examining whether others were involved in the incident. Police patrols have been intensified in the area to maintain law and order.
