Fulbari, 11th July: Water accumulation on the streets due to a lack of a proper drainage system is causing significant trouble for locals and school students in the Jotiakali area of Fulbari II Gram Panchayat. The condition of the road opposite Fulbari High School has been deteriorating for a long time, making it difficult for pedestrians, especially during the monsoon season.
Without a drainage system, water pools on the road, creating small ponds and potholes, which have led to frequent accidents. Students traveling on this road face considerable challenges daily. Local residents reported that this issue has persisted for several years, forcing many students to wade through water to reach school. Incidents and accidents on this road have become a daily occurrence.
Students have voiced their concerns, stating that the waterlogged roads prevent them from wearing shoes to school and force them to navigate through water and mud. Both students and local residents are demanding an immediate solution, including the installation of a drainage system and road repairs.
In response, local panchayat member Safiur Rahman mentioned that the Gram Panchayat Pradhan and concerned department have been informed about the situation. He assured that he would report the matter again to higher authorities to seek a resolution.
