Jalpaiguri, 17th March: Trinamool Congress candidate from Jalpaiguri Sadar Assembly constituency, Krishna Das, on Monday expressed confidence that the BJP would fail to secure any votes in the constituency.
Das was named as the party’s candidate replacing outgoing MLA Dr Pradip Kumar Barma. Following the announcement, party workers and supporters celebrated enthusiastically and distributed sweets.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Das said they were celebrating now and claimed that the BJP would score zero in Jalpaiguri. He also stated that the people would respond strongly in the elections, alleging that they had been harassed and would give a fitting reply on April 23.
