Siliguri, 18th November: Kamtapur Progressive Party (KPP) is set to launch a major agitation against the Central Government, accusing it of failing to fulfil written commitments made on various long-pending demands.
Addressing a press conference at Siliguri Journalists’ Club on Tuesday, members of the KPP central committee expressed strong dissatisfaction, alleging that the Centre has repeatedly escaped responsibility by offering only assurances without action.
As a result, KPP has decided to organise district-wise protest marches against the Central Government. The movement will begin on 22nd November from Cooch Behar, followed by phased protest marches across all districts of North Bengal.
The party has called for a large-scale movement against what it describes as prolonged deprivation and unfulfilled promises.
