As the number of COVID cases in West Bengal crossed the 20,000 marks, the Kolkata airport authorities have announced to restrict flights arriving from six major cities, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Nagpur and Ahmedabad, till August 31.
The Kolkata Airport on Wednesday tweeted that as per the State’s order, flight operations at the airport will remain suspended on the West Bengal’s bi-weekly lockdown days, i.e. August 5th, 8th, 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th and 31st.

Earlier the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation had suspended flights arriving in Kolkata from six COVID-hit cities- Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Nagpur and Ahmedabad till July 31.
