Kharibari police busted animal trafficking using parcel vehicle, two arrested

Kharibari, 09th May: Kharibari police busted two men who were trafficking buffaloes under the safe passage of a parcel vehicle. In this regard, 12 buffaloes were rescued while two traffickers have been arrested. The accused have been identified as Mohammad Iqbal (58) and Mohammad Arif (42).


According to police, the buffaloes were being trafficked from Bihar to Assam during which the two traffickers were apprehended with 12 buffaloes in a parcel vehicle by undertaking a search at Chakkarmari Checkpoint of West Bengal-Bihar border at Kharibari. Today, the accused were produced before the Siliguri Divisional Court, while the matter is under further police investigation.
