Kharibari, 25th September: The Kharibari police arrested four persons with brown sugar and lakhs of rupees from the border area. The accused have been identified as Mian Das (39) of South Colony NJP, Bikash Das (37) of Sahid Colony, Bhaktinagar, Raj Oraon(30) of Jaladipara, Manirul Shek (19) of Latiberpara, Murshidabad.
Reportedly, on Friday, a team of Kharibari police station detained a vehicle at Gour Singh Jote of Panitanki on the Indo-Nepal border. Upon searching, 45 grams of brown sugar and Rs 1.40 lakh cash were recovered from the vehicle. Four people were arrested in this incident. The accused were produced in the Siliguri court today.
