‘Karam Visarjan’ observed at several riverbeds in Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 15th September: The Karam Visarjan, marking the conclusion of the Karam Puja, was held on Sunday across different riverbeds in the Alipurduar district. The festivities began on Saturday evening with the traditional Karam Puja, which continued through the night.


On Sunday morning, people gathered at various ghats in the district, including the riverbeds of Basra, Dima, and Torsa, to perform the customary ritual. The celebrations featured traditional dances and music accompanied by the rhythmic beats of the folk music instrument, Madal.
