Siliguri, 14th August: Kanyashree Diwas was celebrated at the Siliguri SDO office, on Saturday. SDO Srinivas Venkatarao Patil flagged off a tablo designed to spread awareness among the general public regarding the means a student will benefit from the Kanyashree scheme.
Khoplashi Hindi High School, Belgachi Hindi Junior School, Phansidewa High School were awarded as the best schools in Siliguri Education District. While, Munshi Premchand College, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Government College, Kalipad Ghosh Terai College were awarded as the best colleges.
Furthermore, Shreyashi Chatterjee, a student of Netaji High School, who was selected as Ujjwal Kanyashree at the state level, was felicitated and a cheque of Rs 5,000 was handed over to her by the state government.
