Siliguri, 13th August: The Kamtapur Progressive Party organized a protest march in Siliguri on Tuesday, in favour of several demands. The march commenced from Mallaguri, traversed various areas, and concluded at Court More.
The prominent demands of the march included a petition to the state government for the introduction of Kamtapur language education in schools and a call for the central government to recognize Kamtapur as the eighth scheduled language. Additionally, the protestors called for the formation of the Narayani Sena regiment.
The march was led by Amit Roy, President of the Kamtapur Progressive Party, who emphasized these issues as central to their campaign.
