Kharibari, 05th January: The Kamtapur Progressive Party submitted a memorandum to the Kharibari School Education Officer demanding to open primary schools in Kharibari block imparting education in Kamtapuri language.
Amit Roy, a member of the Kamtapur Progressive Party’s central committee, stated “The state government had assured us that primary schools would be opened imparting education in Kamtapuri language. Despite the approval of two schools, it is not possible to educate so many students. Therefore, a demand was made regarding the opening of primary schools at many places of Kharibari block.
He further said the Kamtapuri language has not been given much priority in the state as much as other languages. He demanded education in the Kamtapuri language along with Bengali.
