Siliguri, 23rd November: The central conference of the transgender community commenced in Siliguri on November 15. As a part of the conference, ‘Kalash Yatra’ was organized on Thursday. The yatra started from Mahatma Gandhi Chowk in Siliguri and circumambulated various routes of the city.
According to reports, in addition to several states, the event witnessed the active participation of people from Bangladesh. The conference, which is scheduled to end on November 26, discussed several issues of the community, including the issue of individuals deceiving the general public by posing as part of the transgender community.
Significantly, in the near future, applications will be forwarded to both the center and state for the development and fulfillment of the demands of the transgender community.
Speaking in this regard, transgender Ananya stated the conference to be the first event of the community organized in the state. The community organized this event to spread the message of social development and world peace.
