Alipurduar, 14th August 2024: Junior doctors at Alipurduar District Hospital staged a protest on Wednesday in response to the recent rape and murder of a female doctor at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The tragic incident has sparked nationwide outrage among the medical community.
The protest at Alipurduar District Hospital saw junior doctors demanding justice. The demonstration caused a delay in the opening of OPD services, which began after 11 am instead of the scheduled 10 am, leading to inconvenience for patients.
The protesting doctors called for the immediate arrest of the perpetrator. They also urged for increased police security at Alipurduar District Hospital and the installation of additional CCTV cameras on the hospital premises to ensure the safety of medical staff and patients.
