Siliguri, 25th January: The joint forum of central trade unions and federations, on Monday, staged a sit-in protest at the Siliguri Junction area demanding repeal of the farm bill. They raised slogans ‘ Desh Bachao, Krishak Bachao, Krishi Bachao’ during the demonstration programme.
District Left Front Convener Jibesh Sarkar said that lakhs of farmers will stage a tractor rally in Delhi this Republic Day. He stated that today, all the central trade unions and federations of the Darjeeling district are staging sit-in protests in Siliguri. A tractor rally will be taken out from Mallaguri more tomorrow.
