Jan Dhan Yojana account holders crowd bank in Siliguri Gate Bazar area amid lockdown

Siliguri, 11th April: Despite the nation-wide lockdown, huge crowds were spotted in front of a State Bank of India (SBI) branch in the Siliguri Gate Bazar area, since 4 in morning today.
Ignoring the government guidelines, several people stood in close contact with each other without maintaining social distance (a minimum of 1 m). A similar scenario has also been spotted in other banks of the city.
Recently, the Central Government announced that women Jan Dhan Yojana account holders would get 500 rupees as part of the coronavirus relief package.
The police eventually reached the spot later and dispersed the crowds. The locals have demanded an increase in police surveillance in this regard.
