Jalpaiguri, 11th January: The students of P.D. Women’s College in Jalpaiguri, raised funds for a classmate, who has been suffering from a serious illness and have set an example of humanity by extending a helping hand.
Anita Rai, a third-year student at the P.D. Women’s College in Jalpaiguri, has a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). Anita is a resident of the Pandapara area of Jalpaiguri. Anita’s education was interrupted due to illness. An amount of Rs 3 lakh is required for her treatment. According to the information, Anita’s father is also ill, and her mother runs the family by working as a maid.
Noticing the situation, the other students of the college raised funds and handed over Rs 25,000 to Anita for her treatment. Besides, an appeal for financial assistance from other residents of the Jalpaiguri district was also made.
