Jalpaiguri, 26th July: It was a gloomy morning when a man, ailing with cancer, was found dead in his house in Jalpaiguri Ward No. 21 Collegepara. The deceased has been identified as Atal Sinha.
According to sources, as his wife and daughter live elsewhere for job purposes, Atal the used to live by himself. The locals of the area grew suspicious when the doors and windows of Atal’s remained closed all morning. His family members were immediately informed of the situation.
Upon receiving the news, his relatives reached the spot and entered inside after breaking a window of the house. They were then shocked to find Atal’s lifeless body lying on the bed in a pool of blood.
The Jalpaiguri Kotwali police reached the spot shortly after, recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital for post mortem. Police have launched an investigation into the whole incident.
