Jalpaiguri, 27th August: The Jalpaiguri Kotwali Police recovered a stolen diamond ring, gold chain, and cash. A person, identified as Somnath Das, was arrested in the incident.
It has been learned that a few days ago, Rs 20,000 cash, a diamond ring and gold jewellery were stolen from a house on New Circular Road. Following this, the house owner lodged a complaint at the Kotwali police station. Based on the complaint, the police launched investigations and arrested Somnath Das from the Jalpaiguri Ghumti area on Friday morning. A stolen gold chain, diamond ring, and ten thousand rupees were recovered from his possession.
According to police sources, there are allegations of anti-social activities against the arrested individual. The police have started investigating whether anyone else is involved in the theft.
