Jalpaiguri, 17th February: The Jalpaiguri District Mahila Congress staged a protest against the rise in the price of LPG gas.
On Monday, the members of the organization demonstrated by cooking in the road near a gas center adjacent to Thana More area. Besides, various issues including the rise in the prices of essential commodities were also presented.
District Congress President Nirmal Ghosh Dastidar, Town Block Congress President Pinaki Sengupta and other female leaders were present during the protest programme. Jalpaiguri District Mahila Congress President Ruma Munshi condemned the role of the central government and expressed outrage.
