Rajganj, 14th March: INTTUC staged a sit-in protest in Fulbari more against the central government’s decision to reduce the interest rate on Employees’ Provident Fund, on Monday. Activists and supporters of the Dabgram Fulbari area joined the demonstration.
In this regard, Dabgram-Fulbari INTTUC member Sukanta Kar said that the central government has decreased the interest rate of EPF from 8.5 percent to 8.1 percent. They warned of staging larger demonstrations in the future if the decision is not revoked.
Debashish Pramanik, Education Officer of Jalpaiguri District Council, Mohammad Salim, Convener of Fulbari INTTUC, Rabiul Karim, Regional President, Latika Roy, Women President of Dabgram Fulbari, and many others were present at the programme.
