Siliguri, 26th August: The Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC) NJP branch raised their voice demanding repairment of the roads adjacent to NJP station.
According to the organization members, NJP station is recognized as the largest station in North-East India. Hundreds of people from all across the state and beyond commute here daily. However, due to the negligence of railway authorities, almost all roads adjacent to the station are lying in a dilapidated condition. As a result, accidents are on the rise.
Besides, the VIP road leading to the NJP station as well as the underpass adjacent to the hospital is lying in a pitiful condition. They alleged that despite reporting the matter to the rail authorities several times, no solution has been provided yet.
With no other choice left, INTTUC, on Wednesday, handed over a demand letter to ADRM in this concern.
Prasenjit Roy, President of the organization, stated that the railway authorities have assured them to look into their demands. He further warned of staging larger demonstrations if their demands are not met soon.
