INTTUC activists protest over vandalism of office, demand prompt arrest of culprits

Siliguri, 17th October: The INTTUC activists staged a protest at the NJP police station demanding the immediate arrest of the accused responsible for vandalizing their office yesterday during a clash.


It is to recall, massive tension was witnessed at the NJP station premises on Friday after a temporary railway worker was attacked by some local TMC workers. While the injured person was rushed to the hospital, the agitated railway workers vandalized the INTTUC office. The NJP police laster reached the spot and detained two people in connection to the incident.

On behalf of the Trinamool and Vyavasayee Samiti, Bapi Nag said that they visited the station today to hand over a memorandum. He alleged that their office was vandalized by the BJP activists. However, he claimed that no attack was done on behalf of the TMC.


On Saturday, the Trinamool Congress staged demonstartion stating that even after 24 hours from the incident, the main accused have not been arrested. Party workers led by INTTUC NJP unit president Prasenjit Roy and District INTTUC president Arup Ratan Ghosh protested at the NJP police station demanding prompt arrest of the culprits

Besides, Arup Ratan Ghosh accused the BJP of trying to disturb peace in the NJP area. He claimed that such a tactic will not be tolerated in any way.
