Siliguri, 08th March: On International Women’s Day, the Unique Social Welfare Society is heading towards different villages to raise awareness about women’s health and menstruation hygiene.
The members of the organization said that there are still many women in the rural area who use clothes instead of sanitary napkins on their menstrual days. Although it is advised to use sanitary napkins instead of clothes, yet many are still unaware of it.
Reportedly, the organization will reach about 500 villages from Siliguri to Kolkata on motorcycles to raise awareness among women. The organization members completed the first phase of the programme at Hashmi Chowk. Apart from raising awareness, they will also hand over sanitary napkins to all women.
