Naxalbari, 08th September: A science fair under the banner ‘Innovation Science Fest’ was organized on the occasion of the silver jubilee year of the Naxalbari Sarada Vidyamandir. The occasion was graced by ISRO Scientists Dr. Rajdeep Roy, Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar, Award-winning scientist Dr. Partha Sarathi Chakraborty, National Secretary of Vigyan Bharati Praveen Ramdas, National Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Coordinator Dr. Mayuri Dutta, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh campaigner Shyamacharan Roy and other dignitaries.
As per reports, 15 schools in the district, both government and private, participated in the science fair. Several programs, including a quiz, were organized and the scientists enlightened the students by answering their questions.
Speaking to the media, ISRO Scientist Dr Rajdeep Roy expressed his joy of being among the students. He added that ISRO’s Gaganyaan Mission is in progress and a robot will be sent this year. IIT Kharagpur Scientist Dr. Partha Sarathi Chakraborty emphasized the importance of making the common citizens aware of the impact of global warming.
