Siliguri, 03rd July: International Plastic Bag Free Day was celebrated on behalf of Inner Wheel Club of Siliguri Uttorayon at Haiderpara Bazar under Ward No. 39 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation today.
In the present situation, the use of plastic carry bags has become one of the causes of environmental pollution. To stop the use of plastic carry bags, cloth bags were given to vegetable traders of the Haiderpara area.
A member of the club said that cloth bags were handed over to vegetable traders to stop the use of plastic carry bags. People were made aware not to use plastic poly bags.।
