Indian Oil tanker drivers on strike demanding pay and bonus

Siliguri, 14th October: The Indian Oil tanker drivers staged a strike demanding pending wages and puja bonus.


Several tanker drivers are allegedly deprived of their wages for the past few months and have also not received any puja bonus. As a result, they called for a strike.

Pradeep Tamang, secretary of the drivers’ association, said that the drivers are living under severe crisis at the moment. They warned of continuing the strike if their demands are not met immediately.


On the other hand, Bikash Sarkar, on behalf of the owners, said that due to differences inside the Indian Oil Company, the business is facing losses. As a result, such problems have arisen.
