Siliguri, 01st March: The Indian Football Academy has taken the initiative to promote all talents of North Bengal and provide them with the right platform. In view of this, Uttarbanga Cup Football Tournament is being organized with 5 teams at the Tarai Tarapada Adarsha Vidyalaya grounds in Siliguri.
Ashok Bhattacharya, Chairman of the BoA at SMC, and Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) Vice Chairman Nantu Pal inaugurated the ‘Uttarbanga Cup’. The first match kick-started between Bandhab Sangha and Mahananda Sporting Club. The contest will also be held at Alipurduar, Siliguri, Malda, and Balurghat.
Tanumay Bose, vice-president of the Indian Football Academy, said that the event will be held in the three zones of South Bengal, North Bengal, and Jungle Mahal across the entire state.
