The Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army successfully rescued about 1217 tourists stranded due to inclement weather and snowfall in the higher altitude regions of Eastern Sikkim.
As per sources, during the tireless rescue operation of the army, all stranded tourists were relocated to safer areas and provided with essential commodities. Currently, efforts are underway to facilitate the return of tourists to Gangtok.
