India has taken a significant step in expressing its protest against China’s issuance of stapled visas, rather than stamped ones, to three athletes from Arunachal Pradesh. In response to this action, India made the decision to withdraw its entire Wushu team from the World University Games. The tournament, scheduled to commence on Friday in Chengdu, was expected to include a 12-member Wushu team from India.
Arindam Bagchi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, firmly labelled the Chinese decision as “unacceptable.” He further stated that India retains the right to respond suitably to such actions.
