As India recorded 6,97,887 COVID-19 cases, late Sunday, the nation has now become the third highest COVID-19 hit country in the world.
By July 05, USA recorded a total of 29.5 lakh COVID-19 cases with 1.3 lakh death, while Brazil, coming in second on the list, recorded 15.8 lakhs positive cases with 64,365 deaths.
With 6.9 lakhs cases and 19,684 deaths, India surpassed Russia who recorded 6.81 lakhs of COVID-19 positive cases with 10,161 deaths.
According to the data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, on Sunday, 24,850 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours with 613 deaths. Maharashtra comes as the worst COVID affected state of the nation as it crossed the milestone of two lakh cases. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu’s tally reached 1.11 lakh and Delhi too is nearing the one lakh mark.
