Fulbari, 13th March: Former KLO linkmen launched an indefinite hunger strike in Fulbari on Friday pressing for the fulfilment of a three-point demand, including employment opportunities.
The agitation began at Battalion More in Fulbari where the protesters set up a dharna stage and started the hunger strike programme.
The protest has been organised under the banner of the Former KLO Linkmen Mahila Manch Coordination Committee. Along with male participants, several women linkmen also joined the hunger strike.
The protesters have demanded immediate employment opportunities for former KLO members and linkmen. They have also called for permanent rehabilitation and the formation of an autonomous council.
The agitators stated that the indefinite hunger strike will continue until their demands are met. They also warned that a larger movement will be launched in the coming days if the issues are not addressed soon.
